Why is the function of automatic patient rotation from back to stomach and vice versa so important?
The recommended lifting limit for clinicians in the US is just 35lbs. That means, to move a 180lbs patient, you need at least 5 clinicians. 5 nurses or doctors just to turn a single patient on to their side or stomach. With how important rotational therapies are in the prevention illnesses associated with extended immobilization, this is problematic.
That’s why our Papillon robotic medical bed is so important. A single nurse or doctor can rotate a patient with the click of a button. It’s good for the patient, as they can be moved around more frequently, and it’s good for the staff as they do not have to risk straining themselves and getting injured while moving a patient.
